Three Great Movies That Celebrate the Royal Wedding Spirit

Millions around the world are expected to watch at least part of the royal wedding on TV or the internet tomorrow. If you want some alternative royal wedding related entertainment, here's a look at the best movies to watch to celebrate the royal wedding.
"Royal Wedding"
How could I not include a movie fittingly called " Royal Wedding "? I absolutely love Fred Astaire, and although Jane Powell costars rather than Ginger Rogers, "Royal Wedding" is still one of his classics. In this movie London
is preparing for a royal wedding (sound familiar?), and Fred Astaire plays a dancer preparing for the big opening of a new show (think West End star). What follows is a timeless combination of fantastic dance scenes and romance. This is the perfect choice for anyone with an old-fashioned romantic at heart.
"The Prince & Me"
Kate Middleton met Prince William as a relatively average university student. The two of them became friends and--eventually--fell in love with each other. Now she's marrying her prince and living a real life fairy tale. Similarly, " The Prince & Me " tells the story of a university student who encounters a charming guy...who just happens to turn out to be a prince. They eventually fall in love and she has to face both the fairy tale aspects and unexpected challenges that lead up to a royal wedding. Yes, this movie is pretty cheesy and really made for thirteen-year-old girls. It's still entertaining and perfectly in keeping with celebrating the royal wedding.
"Pride & Prejudice"
Jane Austen's classic "Pride & Prejudice" has become one of the most famous love stories, and is the quintessential English love story. In it, Elizabeth Bennet is a young woman who is independent and intelligent. She meets Mr. Darcy, who is tall, dark, handsome, and fabulously wealthy. He also turns out--despite numerous misunderstandings at first--to be a really good, nice guy. It's little surprise, then, that Kate Middleton and Prince William are known to enjoy the movie version of this film. It is even said that they re-watched the BBC version of the story in the royal wedding run-up. After all, they can definitely relate to the characters.
